MAKE YOUR FINISH A SOFT ONE...
... add accuracy - and look good doing it - Hunter Mahan
If you're one of those players who tends to fall backward or forward after impact, or lean to the left or right so far that you lose your balance, this tip is for you! After you strike the ball, let everything in your body go soft. You should go from swinging your arms as fast as you can through impact to immediately feeling like only momentum is pulling them into your finish. I swing so soft that my hands and arms automatically fall in front of my chest while I'm tracking the ball in its flight.
If your swing energy is at 100 percent capacity at impact, you want to get it to zero by the time your hands reach shoulder height in your follow-through. Finishing soft like this allows you to maintain better balance and control. Try it a few times and see how easy it is to keep your weight balanced over your left foot and to get your body to face the target. This is all good news for your swing. Plus, you'll look a lot cooler in your finish than when you're struggling to stay on your feet.
